"Ricky" Dume has never forgotten the profound impact that dance has had on him as an individual, student, teacher, or leader. Ricky has never hesitated to reach back because he is committed to the fundamental belief that our youth have the right to be their full selves and the word CAN’T will NEVER define the possibilities of his students!

Knowing the transformational power of self-expression, it is the firm belief that “all students have something to offer” With this Same vision I, Ricardo Dume started RickyDanco. RickyDanco dance company serves as an outlet for todays younger generation. For many this is an opportunity.... A SPRING BOARD FOR SUCCESS. RickyDanco primarily services the youth of the Socioeconomicalky disadvantaged Miami Dade communities (Liberty City, Brownsville, Allapattah, Little River and Little Haiti) Many of these students come from broken homes of the inner city, some come for extracurricular, Some because they like to dance and some come to Escape reality’s harsh circumstances. Regardless of reason, RickyDanco opens doors and opportunities for society’s youth to reach beyond limits of todays norm. The work of RickyDanco has been recognized by many in the community! So much so that he was offered a place of residence for his work to continue servicing the community at the Opa-Locka Center for community development and the African Heritage cultural arts Center As their residency companies. Mr Dume has been honored by the community as a “Miami-Dade County Public School Teacher Who Impact Through Service” by the Association of Haitian Educators of Dade.
It has been 3 years since the start of RickyDanco and from what started out with 28 students has grown into a group of almost 80 amazingly talented students of the community. With this same vision Ricky Dume was provided countless of scholarship opportunities for more than 25 of his current students. These students have gone on to leave behind the stifling circumstances of their home, community, and environment to rise as leaders and examples in their communities while maintaining their high academic standing, to earning Full scholarships to Universities, to headlining Netflix Docu-Sereies. With this same vision RickyDanco will continue to provide ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE to all who wear the name.The mentorship doesn’t end there. Due to the transformational power of Dance, RickyDanco maintains these relationships, using mentorship as a springboard to sustain the creative and personal development of these students.
